Looking for new Alpha Testers [Do NOT apply without reading the requirements]

Status
Not open for further replies.
I still find it amazing the number of people who don't seem to be able to read the requirements for application
Well, for my part, I looked through the requirements listed in the original post and read the first page of replies. At that point, I thought I did qualify, so I posted a request to join. I didn't go back and read the whole thread until just now to see the additional requirements (the requirements for being a member for 6 months and having 50+ posts is on the 2nd page of replies). Sorry about that.

I just saw this thread, sorry to be late to the game. If you are still looking for testers, I would like to participate. I've got the LG drive and 20+ HD-DVDs and 20+ Bluray. I have no problem with the command line and would be glad to provide feedback/logs/etc..

I don't have a lot of posts, because your software just works. If I do have a problem, usually someone else has already posted it and I just wait for the next update. I'm region 1 (I know it's not where you need additional testers) but if you do decide you could use me as a tester, I would be glad to help.

Just to clarify, the only person posting in this thread who can say this is "their software" is Fernando. SamuriHL and myself Moderators and volunteer our time. We are not employees. No one else who has posted is an employee, ether.

It's time again to post the requirements for becoming an Alpha Tester:

As you might already know SlySoft is currently developing a new Clone Application for High-Definition Media.

And we are now looking for Alpha Testers. If you qualify you can apply as a new alpha tester. Qualifications are:

- you have a BD/HD-DVD drive
- you have at least 1 BD/HD-DVD media
- you are familiar with a CUI application (yes it's currently a command line program)
- you are able to send generated log-, dump-, and info-files
- you know the difference between Alpha, Beta and Final version

Don't expect anything. Don't demand anything. Don't suggest anything.

If you qualify and are still interested then post your name here.

and

You have to be a member for at least 6 months and have more than 50 posts. Exceptions are possible but you have to convince me.

and

There are still some seats available for Non-US users. That is UK, Western Europe, Europe, Australia and Asia, Japan. And the rest of the world. If you could state your media region again.

and

There has been an addition to the requirements. The requirement really isn't new but simply wasn't explicitly stated. Quite frankly, it's a given.

Anyone who wants to be a tester or becomes a tester must actively participate in the process. This isn't a game. This isn't for fun.

If a person is made a tester and then isn't around or doesn't take part then they will lose their status. It's very simple.

If you are selected:

Again, if you have been approved you can go here

<link removed>

And if you are: You are not allowed to tell others that you have been approved. Otherwise we revoke your status.

Haven't you posted in the thread? If not then my apologies. For some reason I thought you had.

I have, but, I've been rather quiet lately. I just get far too annoyed by people who don't read and simply post "hey me too I'd like to test". I made the comments about people not knowing what alpha actually means and thinking they were going to be testing some full blown application that can be used. But I haven't said much lately. :)

Oh, I think I'm a bit late, although I'm here at the forum all day, I didn't read the thread. My bad.

I think I'm a bit late as well... and I realize I don't have 50 posts yet, even though I've been a member for 15 months...

I guess I try not to say anything unless it's a useful contribution to a discussion & if someone else has put forward my viewpoint before me, I won't repeat it :)

I'm certainly interested in giving it a go.

I'm in Australia - region B... I have over 200 (region A and B titles) blu-rays as well as over 100 HD DVDs

- I use Synology as upnp media server and ps3 as media renderer
- BD drive is LG H20L
- BD Media: Planet Earth, Batman Dark Knigh, Hancock, Kill Bill, Casino Royal,...

Thanks!

By the way: since I'm ne to the forum I only have a single post... :)
But I am professional software developer and used to quality assurance processes and testing and command line stuff.

Then you should also know what alpha software means. This isn't beta testing.

Even though I am a little late aswell, I'd also like to join the testing team.

I have:
- LG GGC-H20L (Blu-Ray, HD-DVD)
- several BDs (dont want to count them now)
- one HD-DVD

And, of course, I am able and willing to send generated log-, dump-, and info-files.
Furthermore, I am a programmer myself and therefore comfortable with command line programms.

I hope it is not to late for this application :)
