List of UHDs currently UN-supported in AnyDVD

September seems realistic, it's hitting streams later this month/early September and the disc contents have already been checked by the BBFC.
 
It was excellent. I really can't wait to get it home and watch it again. The lack of release dates lately is just....odd.
 
They've just put TG: Maverick back into cinemas this week with additional bonus footage and a poster giveaway. I think Paramount is trying to capitalize on their momentum with this one and ride the theatrical wave as long as possible.

I think you're right.

And I guess when they're done, they'll put it on Paramount Plus.


Depending on how long the disc release takes, I may be tempted to purchase it on Prime or capture it from Paramount Plus to finally see it, whichever would come first.

But I reeeeallly would prefer first watch to be the UHD.


Just don't know how long I can wait up for it. :p

If it becomes available on Prime end-of-month and still no word about the UHD, I may purchase it there in the interim and watch it.

The issue you have is that Cruise himself has complete control over when it comes to Paramount+. That's not the usual deal. And with the movie doing well in the theaters still, he has no motivation to bring it to Paramount+. It's likely coming to VOD services on the 23rd. That's your Amazon Video, Vudu, etc. UHD is rumored to be late September or even October. Given that I pre-ordered the UHD already and have zero desire to buy or even rent this movie on VOD, yea, it sucks.
 
Understandable though, considering how much of a winner this has been for pretty much everyone. Ppl will still buy the discs a few months down the road.
Cruise did a small introductory video to show before theater screenings which I presume was recorded only this year - I was amazed by how much older he actually looked there than he did in the movie which they shot back in 2018/19.

See, the thing is, this is the one and only movie that made me even consider setting foot in a theater.

Almost had me too, but in the end I decided against it for safety concerns.

The only way I was good with that, was I promised myself to buy the UHD just as soon as it came out as compensation.

I didn't anticipate an extended wait, although I should have.


It's very unlikely I'll be able to wait until as long as October to see it.

So what'll happen is, I'll either break down before that and actually hit the theater after all -- or buy and stream the movie from Prime for first watch. Then get the UHD for a real blockbuster viewing experience as soon as available.

Either way, I will be viewing it before October -- that I can guarantee. LOL!

On this one, you won't be disappointed however you go. I saw it on my local rpx screen and it was an awesome experience. It was really well done. I even got some souvenirs by going opening night. That was awesome!
