Hi, KaiserBock.

Added to the List.

Glad you included the Year for this one.

FYI --

From an earlier post to someone else:

... If you're going to play UHD's in AnyDVD you should assign a value to the AnyDVD setting Video Blu-Ray -> UHD -> Key search method.

As it is now with that not being set, AnyDVD won't use the keyfile when searching for UHD keys not in the OPD.

Minimally it should be set to the default value of "Search all UHD keys".

List updated.

Supported, great news!

Also good to see your AnyDVD Key search method is set. :=)

Removed from the UN-supported List, thanks Sedum!

List revised.

Changing the search method did not help with Godzilla (1998), but apparently changing the method + reboot did solve it.
I believe, you can remove Godzilla (1998) again.

Thank you for your support!

It's time again. :) :(

Changing the search method did not help with Godzilla (1998)...

No, changing the Keyfile search method won't help Godzilla right now because the key's not in the keyfile -- but it will help you play it, and any future unsupported titles, when a key is in there.

I believe, you can remove Godzilla (1998) again.

Thank you for your support!

Hmmm, it's working?

Ok that's a good thing, but as you know, maintenance of the List is an automated process...

Run your title through the Scanner again and submit the Support report created in order to remove it from the UN-supported List.

... Just as you have in the past.

Scanner confirmation of Support is especially needed here because your key is not showing up in the public keyfile...

Well, now it's in keydb and supported. :)

Great kjuuu, glad you're all set now.

But please don't reply to a post in such a way that you include a previously-submitted Scanner report again.

The Scan Reader will pick up the second report and try to process it as well!

Appreciate it if you would edit the above post and remove the report from its Reply section.

Don't delete the post, just edit it please.

Thanks.

Guys --

Several people -- including myself -- are finding the following AnyDVD setting suddenly "unset", even though it was previously assigned:

Video Blu-Ray -> UHD -> Key search method

My guess is that one of the previous beta releases may have inadvertently reset this setting.

It's important for it to have a value, otherwise AnyDVD keyfile use for UHD's is effectively disabled!

It'd be a good idea to double-check to make sure yours is currently set (to any value other than blank or "Disabled").

"Search all keys" or "Search all UHD keys" are your best options.

I suppose I could make one last update to the scanner and force the default to stay set.

EDIT: Meaning if it's not set at all.

I suppose I could make one last update to the scanner and force the default to stay set.

Probably unnecessary.

The Scanner already changes that setting to do what it needs, then sets it back to the User's preference, as you ofc know.

So it's covered.

Outside of that I think it's should be a matter of User accountability to set it to his personal choice and double-check with a new install.

In fact, that should really be the case for any AnyDVD setting.

Interesting.

No key in the keyfile yet now Supported.

Ok, well congrats KaiserBock!

I guess the key will eventually be uploaded to the keyfile.

Godzilla removed, thanks!

List refreshed.

There are keys for various UHD releases of Godzilla (1998) in the public keydb. I’m sure one of these would correspond to KaiserBock’s particular disc. I don’t believe AnyDVD contributes matches to the keydb which it finds by iterating through keys in the keydb.

@James would you be open to making these pairings available to the keydb?

Nope.

His key is not in there, as of yet.

Had it been in there, the Key Monitor program would have sent out a notification.

I just double-checked, just to be sure... nope.

(It is possible AnyDVD successfully decrypted KaiserBock's Godzilla with a non-matching key from the keyfile.)

If AnyDVD is matching to a key in the keyfile, why would it need to "contribute" the key?

It's already in there, or it wouldn't have a match...

In case you're missing this, the local keyfile on a person's computer that AnyDVD searches for keys has been downloaded from the public keyfile.

So both have the same keys.

If someone (somehow) generates their own key and puts it in their local keyfile and it works, they should also upload it to the public one.

Probably rarely happens, but if it does, that's the responsibility of the person who made the key, not AnyDVD.

The keydb entry which maps his disc ID to the particular unit key is not yet in the keydb. But the key itself will be in the keydb.

Yes, this is the scenario I was describing. AnyDVD tried unit keys from the keydb until it found one which produced something reasonable.

If AnyDVD is matching to a key in the keyfile, why would it need to "contribute" the key?

It's already in there, or it wouldn't have a match...
Many discs with distinct disc ID values share unit keys. My suggestion was it would be nice if AnyDVD shared the disc ID to unit key mappings which it identified in this circumstance. AnyDVD wouldn’t be adding new keys to the keydb, I think we all understand that keys only move in one direction between AnyDVD and the keydb…

So both have the same keys.
Just to be clear, I’m aware that both have the same keys but the distinction is the additional mapping between disc ID values and keys which is occasionally produced by AnyDVD.
