Oof. Um, I'll let testiles respond to that. But I will say quoting a full scanner report, especially from someone else, is not a great idea cause his scan reader program will pick it up and try to process it as a new report. And you can post an additional full scanner report of your own to become an alternate and be told when a key is available. I'm sure testiles will have more to say. LOL

Um, the scanner has a built in function to update the keydb and I wrote a whole tool called KeyDB Tools, as well. My post was HIGHLY sarcastic.

Yes, the Scan Reader will pick up and process any report posted on the thread.

It has no way to know if it's a previous report that's been copied, or even if it's just part of a Reply.

So please don't re-post reports in that way, glad you changed it...


Also, I'm glad by "deleted it" you mean changed the post by editing, not deleted the post, because no posts should be deleted from the thread (as explained in Post #1).


I'm not sure what the information you posted above represents, but if you have an unsupported copy of Aliens, you should create your own Scanner report and post it.


If it's a different version, it'll be added to the List.


If the same version, you'll be added as an alternate contact - and when the key is available be included in the auto-generated thread announcement of that.

Yes, KingofGnG, before using the Scanner on your titles you should always press the KeyDB button, lower left, to update your local keyfile to the latest version.
