I received this message with AnyDVD 8120
AnyDVD is unable to crack all CSS Keys on this disc!
AnyDVD will guess the correct CSS Key, but it is possible,
that one or more titles on this disc will not play correctly.

NOTE:
To avoid this message in the future, you should set your drive
region code to match the region of this disc.

I still seemed to be able to copy it to hard drive ok. I understand you can only change region codes 5 times but Anydvd has never asked me to change it before. Is it true that changing it would then allow crack all CSS Keys ? I'm also not sure what region is it or how to change it but can probably findout with google

Normally you get that message when your drive is not set. EXIT AnyDVD before checking or setting the drive region. An AnyDVD log would verify that.

I exited AnyDVD and opened it again... same message. Delving further, it's Default Region is on 1 which should match the disk (bought from Amazon USA).
Looking at the settings I see

Thanks.

Following your link and the info on Regions, I checked Device managaer to find the current one. I have 2 identical Asus ROMS and one is set to Region1 and the other is not selected.
But both bring up the same message about CSS Keys. (Zipfile has been attached to previous message).
Thanks.

And what exactly is the problem? You provide zero information.

Can you refer to msg 1 in the previous thread ?

Please stick to 1 topic topic next time. That said, you need to set your drive hardware region.

I was given a link with instructions for uploading the zip file and that created the second thread, not my doing!
There's 2 drives and the region is set on one of them, yet that message appears on both. Does that suggest it's something else?
I don't want to change that unless I have to as you only get a few attempts to do so.

Use the DVD in the drive where the region code HAS been set then.
Using a drive where the region is not set can cause problems.

I am using the DVD with the Region set , I only tried the other as a test. Results are the same with both, suggesting the region encoding isn't the problem.

Provide another logfile. Use the drive where, according to you, the region code is set.

Summary for drive X: (AnyDVD HD 8.1.2.0, BDPHash.bin 17-05-03)
ASUS DRW-24D5MT 1.00 O01790C K2JG5CF5051
Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)
Then use a drive other than this one. If it doesn't work either, then post a log from that drive. You only have to set the drive region once.

So long as you EXIT AnyDVD before setting the region in Device Manager.... it's one time operation.

I was replying specifically to the "you only get 5 attempts" to change the drive region. With AnyDVD you only need to set it once. If you try setting it with AnyDVD running, you can try 1000 times and it won't matter, so the "you only get 5 attempts" still doesn't matter.

The logfile previously attached was created using the drive with the region setting. I presume another one isn't needed ?

Why the need to only set a region once? Doesn't this contradicts the '5 times only" rule which is must in place when AnyDVD is not running? Yes /No?
If AnyDVD removes the Region code (as implied by the tick in Settings) isn't it then redundant? It would be helpful to know why it would cause unable to crack all CSS Keys error.
I don't think the message is authentic, as it happens on both drives, remembering one has a region set and one doesn't. I tried a couple of other DVDs and no such message is generated. Also the resultant WWTE file seems be be OK but I've only done spot checks so far.

Regarding multiple topics, maybe put something in the FAQ about avoiding that, as following the instructions precisely is what caused it. Thank you for fixing.
