I am not able to get the new AnyDVD Scanner UI to display. I'm running Windows 10 x64. To troubleshoot, I've installed .net 8, ensured scanner was allowed through firewall, run as administrator. Task Manager says it is running, but there is no UI. The last version of AnyDVD scanner that I used, 1.1.0.9.7, does come up with the UI.

you probably mean version 1.1.0.9.0 not 1.1.0.9.7
 
That's 1.1.0.9 which is a year old. The .7z is the file format, not part of the version. As for why you're having issues, I have no idea.
 
Got it. Yes, a year ago was the last time I had to run AnyDVD Scanner since someone is almost always faster than me getting around to it. Reason I was trying to run it now is because I can't decrypt Casablanca. I see that it was decrypted last year so was trying to download the key db to see if that works, or post mine as a new version.
 
That may be what the Scanner is doing. if you've never set up the keydb before, it'll download it and configure it for you. There's supposed to be a dialog that comes up to show that but maybe for you it's hidden for whatever reason.

In any case, if you get the keydb setup and find that there's no key for your version of it, PM me an AnyDVD log (do not post it in this thread) and I'll take a look.

There was a Canadian, Japanese and Dutch version of Casablanca that were all Listed and supported around this time last year.

Your version may be new.

Hi,

I'm trying to scan a newly released UHD Bluray, but the scanner won't move beyond asking my forum name. My first thought was that it can't find me until I've made a post, so I'm trying that.

EDIT - I found that I had to click on "DVD", even though it was already selected (only option).

It was probably a combination of me not understanding completely and maybe an improvement could be made. The keydb download UI wasn't showing up for me before. I didn't realize that it was supposed to happen automatically the first time. I thought it was something that I would download after the Scanner was running. In any case, I input a keydb path in AnyDVDHD before running AnyDVD Scanner. After I deleted the path in AnyDVD and reran the Scannner, the KeyDB downloaded automatically, and even better, I was able to decrypt the movie. Thanks!

I'll take a look at that next time I'm in the Scanner code, as well. It's SUPPOSED to alert you of what it's doing.
