Guys,

Maybe obvious now (lol) but I've set up a program to monitor the keyfile and let us know as soon as a title on the List has a key added there.

For those few who can create their own keys, then add them to the keyfile, this won't be helpful.

But for the rest of us who have to wait for a key to be added there for support, it saves having to repeatedly check for your key to show up there.

Currently, the monitor runs once an hour 24-hours a day.

Meaning we should get notification within 60 minutes of the key's appearance.

I'll be doing a couple of test runs over the next day or two which will post testing notifications on the thread.

They'll be clearly marked - please ignore them.

He knows. He tried the one key that's in there with his TI to see if it would work. It did not hence the report.

Additionally to this, which is awesome, I will also be (manually) monitoring the reports. I have a process that in some cases generates POSSIBLE keys to try and I've been pm'ing people with the key entries and instructions. This process that I'm doing is hopefully going to be temporary. More info to come.

So testiles will let you know when a key for your specific title has been added to the keydb. And for now I'll help people attempt to find working keys for titles not yet in the keydb. Combined this should keep the list short!

@testiles I love the automation around your key reporting. That's very nice.

Not quite a fait accompli yet, but almost there.

Keyfile monitoring has been in place for over a week now, and I've been "manually" sending notifications.

The part I'm putting the last touches on is automatic notification.

After a few test runs, it should go live later in the week.

That'll be nice. Given the 100k+ entries in there it's all too easy to overlook when your title is added.

Yeah, currently just over 144,000 keys in there.

Ofc, technically you don't have to "look" in the keyfile, just mounting the title in AnyDVD or running the Scanner with the keyfile enabled will check.

But having the Monitor means not even having to do that.

Now, we can just wait to be notified - lol.

And that's already in place so starts immediately...

At this point, I get the notification and will pass it on.

When complete I can stop being the "middle man" and the Monitor will send its notifications directly to the Forum.

The only requirement is that the title be on the List.

That's it!

As I said, the combination is gong to be powerful in keeping the list small. Look at how far we've come in the last 6 weeks!

Things are going very well!

Around this same time in May, we had 106 titles listed spanning 148 OPD's.

Now 3 and 3. LOL!

I'm expecting to hit the final benchmark and see the List empty out any time now.

Probably won't remain that way, but would be good to see anyway... :=)

Just checked - it was added to the keyfile at some time between 3:30 and 4:30 - LOL.

EDIT:

I should add it was the only key added then.

And there were no others since before 6:30 this morning. At all!

That's super impressive. I've had nothing to report this week. Both my discs were supported out of the box, quite literally. I didn't have to go key hunting, either. They were simply in the keydb already. I REALLY love that.
