Update...
Updated, Dr X, thanks.
Curious - why would a title be Unsupported, or rather, not able to be supported? Is there a technical reason? Is it just an AnyDVD issue or systemic across similar apps?
Blade Runner Final Cut is on the "likely will never be supported" list and I'm just trying to understand why.
Thx in advance
Hard to answer in any detail since we as AnyDVD users know very little about the black box called UHD decryption.
Normal "unsupported" titles don't work because there is no key for them in the OPD as of yet.
Titles listed as "Unsupportable", meaning unable to be supported
at all, were declared such by the developers after working on them for a pretty long time.
My personal guess on these is that the UHD key required to get AnyDVD support may be there but it's not working for some reason that can't be discovered.
It's an AnyDVD-specific determination because pretty much all those titles can be decrypted by another app.
Points up the fact that all apps have their own methods of decryption, so yield different results.
I feel we're lucky though because at present there are only 23 titles with that categorization out of the over 2100 we've had join the List (and have a final determination for).
So around 1% -- and that ain't bad. LOL!
"Likely Unsupportable" is my own designation.
I've put titles that have been on the List over a year in that category just to indicate it's been a good while for them.
Odds are they may be declared Unsupportable at a future point since many of the Unsupportables had been around that long.
In fact, to date, there have only been 4 titles that were supported after being Listed over a year!
Having said that, there are
no Blade Runner's currently in the Likely Unsupportable section.
Only 3 still unsupported and 1 declared Unsupportable.
Hope this helps.
