I have two single layer blu-rays, T2 and Stargate. Both are 1080p mpeg2 codec disks. Since the studios (or at least lionsgate/studio canal) did encode movies this way I was wondering if that would be a good target format for re-encodes. Is it even possible to re-encode a 50gb avc or vc-1 movie...

I downloaded anydvd to try out with my new blu-ray drive and it works great but I noticed that every disc I put it it pops up a dialog box with the number of days I have left and I have to click on continue to make it disappear, Is it supposed to do that? I imagine the licensed users don't see that.

I've read some thread where people were having issues with anydvd because the region wasn't set on the dvd drive. Maybe in the next version anydvd can check during install or while running if the region hasn't been set so users will be prompted to set it.
