Is it possible to completely emulate all the functions of a physical blu-ray drive in software? I would think that if such a virtual drive could be made it would eliminate the need to work around aacs and bd+, a software player would not be able to tell a virtual drive from a real one and would play the image as if it were a real disc without resorting to anydvd hd.

Not possible. We need a signed drive certificate which even if we got one could easily be revoked.

I too was thinking about this the other day, it would be interesting to see if it is technically possible or not?
I already own anydvd hd so it makes no difference to me but i am curious.
