Verbatim blanks
i use 4x write speed
Don't. Use an 8x write speed with 16x rated blank media.
You would be better off buying 8x rated blank media, since your drive has a max write speed of 8x.
Firmware support may be better for 8x rated blank media.
Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500S ATA device
That's not an ATA device. The "S" on BC-5500S denotes "Sata".
It's a Slimeline Sata drive: http://www.sonynec-optiarc.com/products/slim_dbcombo/index.html
Because this drive was issued to you by HP, HP is responsible for providing customers with firmware updates for that drive.
You have nvstor.sys loaded, and that driver is used for nvidia sata controllers, which doesn't make any sense if you're using an intel based motherboard. So either something is really messed up with drivers on your end, you actually have a nvidia based motherboard (and are supplying the wrong info about your motherboard), or there's a potential virus on your laptop.
