• AnyStream is having some DRM issues currently, Netflix is not available in HD for the time being.
Situations like this will always happen with AnyStream: streaming providers are continuously improving their countermeasures while we try to catch up, it's an ongoing cat-and-mouse game. Please be patient and don't flood our support or forum with requests, we are working on it 24/7 to get it resolved. Thank you.

When CW was first added I could access some shows. Examples:
Children Ruin Everything
Run the Burbs

About 2 weeks ago, I started receiving "We're sorry, this title has an unsupported format".

Did CW revert to the unsupported format for these shows?

No, there are plenty of titles to download and in 1080p also. However, some are in a format that AnyStream does not support. It's a free provider.

I noticed that The CW encrypted a whole bunch of shows recently - maybe most of its content. I used to use yt-dlp to grab CW content, but that's not working anymore due to the DRM. So I loaded up AS and had the same experience as the OP - practically nothing I tried can be downloaded, including new series like Children Ruin Everything.

I did find a few things were still downloadable, but my assumption is that the new encryption is still rolling out, and doesn't apply to everything yet. I wouldn't be surprised if this continues to get worse, but I'm happy to be wrong about this.

It’s not a new encryption. In fact it’s old, but it’s not something we support.i

Understood. I meant "new" as in "newly rolled out to more (maybe most) of their content". I didn't follow up to see what type of encryption they were using, but interesting to know that it's not on the cutting edge. Given their budget and size, that sounds about right.

i was under the impression AS supports CW encrypted content but does not support unencrypted content!?

Why won't it be supported? Too difficult to crack?

@CBrigger THIS WAS THE CHANGELOG WHEN IT WAS INTRODUCED.

Windows download 64 bit: https://download.redfox.bz/download/sandbox/SetupAnyStream_1.5.9.1_64bit.exe
Windows download 32 bit: https://download.redfox.bz/download/sandbox/SetupAnyStream_1.5.9.1_32bit.exe
Debian download: https://download.redfox.bz/download/sandbox/AnyStream_1.5.9.1_amd64.deb
Redhat download: https://download.redfox.bz/download/sandbox/AnyStream-1.5.9.1.x86_64.rpm
.tar.gz download: https://download.redfox.bz/download/sandbox/AnyStream_1.5.9.1.tar.gz
macOS download: https://download.redfox.bz/download/sandbox/AnyStream_1.5.9.1.dmg

Note: A neat little provider was added: CWTV.
It requires no subscription, no payment, offers free-with-ads video.
The content is limited and is only available in the US.
Shortcomings: a few older shows/titles have a format, that AnyStream doesn't support (M3U/DVB-TS)
Enjoy!

Same Question. Can we crack this format. I often like to go back in time and find shows i missed the first time around.

It does seem like the stuff on CW swings between supported and unsupported randomly. A new show, The Spencer Sisters, has been unsupported since its launch, but last week it was suddenly supported so I downloaded all the episodes from the season so far. Went to grab the latest episode tonight, and we're back to unsupported.

I can't explain what's going on here, but wanted to confirm that it's not just you. Misery loves company.

Looks like CW is mixing formats:
Sullivan's Crossing
S1E1 non-DRM
S1E2 DRM
S1E3 non-DRM
S1E4 non-DRM
S1E5 DRM
S1E6 DRM

Can you post a log file, not 1 episode of Sullivans Crossing is available for download, they are all in an unsupported format. There is only 1 season of that show.

Tried to download S1E2 Sullivan's crossing - log attached

You cannot download any of them, they are all in a format we do not support. Your logfile is useless, it shows nothing. Show me the episode you downloaded successfully in a log file.

That is what I guessed. This was just information for other people (about the DRM on some episodes).

That you for everything you do for us! :giggle:
