If you copied the dvd to your hard drive you at least have a dvd READER. When you are ready to burn to dvd you need to put a blank dvd into a dvd BURNER. It appears you are putting a blank dvd or cd into a CD DRIVE neither of which will result in a burned copy of your dvd original.

CloneCD will copy everything on the original. Since cloneCD does NOT compress you will need dual layer media if you are backing up a dual layer original. If the original dvd is 4.36GB or less in size just use single layer media when using cloneCD.
