Has anyone got Baraka working?

My drive just spins and whirs if Anydvd is running, I can play the disc with Anydvd closed.

"Before posting about your problem, please do some of us a favour so that we can help you better.
Follow the steps, and answer the following questions in your post (especially 1, 3, 7 and 8 please):

1) a)If you have HDCP compliance, does the original disc exhibit playback issues with Anydvd disabled? If the original disc doesn't play fine with Anydvd disabled, then your problem has nothing to do with Anydvd.

b) Does the original disc play fine with Anydvd enabled?

2) Update your drive's firmware if available: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=18731

3) Ensure you're using the lastest version of Anydvd HD. Check the sticky at the top of this forum.

4) Remove packet writing software from your system, including Roxio's Directcd, Nero's Incd, Roxio/Sonic's DragtoDisc, Drive Letter Access, CyberLink InstantBurn, NTI's Filecd, etc.

5) Specify the a)full title, b)region code, c) country, and d) release date of the disc that you're experiencing issues with.

6) Click the red fox icon in your system tray. Select "status" on the left hand side of your screen. With the problematic disc inserted in your computer, click the appropriate drive tab letter (the drive containing the disc) in Anydvd HD. In the window below the drive letter (just right click in the window and choose "select all" and then "copy"), copy and paste (right click, select "paste") the information into your next reply on these forums.

7) State the full a)error message(s) you encountered, b)tell us what program(s) you were using when you received the error message(s), c) provide version numbers of those programs and d) describe in detail what you were doing when you received the error message(s).

8 ) Post the Anydvd zip log file to the forums:

a) Ensure Anydvd is running.
b) Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
c) Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
d) Select "Create Logfile"
e) Wait for Anydvd to create a log file.
f) A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "ok".
g) Go to your My Documents folder
h) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f)
i) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like (in other words, look for the paperclip after clicking "quote" or when creating a new thread)
j) If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
k) A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
l) Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
m) click "upload"
n) Close the window. When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the .zip file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at

9 ) a) Is your software HD player up to date? What version are you using?
b) What graphic driver version are you using? Is it up to date as well?

For Ati based cards, visit http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

For Nvidia based cards, visit http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

10 ) What graphics card brand and model are you using?

11) Do you have Data Execution Prevention enabled in XP or Vista and are experiencing playback issues? Try disabling DEP.

12) Before posting, please use the "search" function on these boards. Many answers are available already.

1. Disc plays fine with Anydvd disabled.

2. LG combo drive, latest firmware.

3. 6.4.7.9

4. Don't have packet software installed.

5. Baraka, US release (region A I think, not certain), 23 October 2008.

6. It never finds a disc, drive just flashes and whirs indefinitely:

"AnyDVD is disabled for Drive Z:!
SATA HL-DT-STBDDVDRW 1.03 410515082485J91002"

7. No messages.

8. I can't get it to create a log. Anydvd never stops scanning.

9. Powerdvd 7.3 4407 plays the disc fine without Anydvd running (but I want to create a MKV to get a GAMMA adjustment).

10. ATi HD2600XT

11. No

12. Done that, no results for Baraka.

Am I the only one? I actually have two original discs here, one is for a mate, but it is unopened. I can open it if someone else gets different results.

Thanks

Mark

My first copy from Netflix would stop copying at 75%, retried many times, same thing. So I requested a replacement from Netflix, and that second disc stopped copying at 80%! So someone suggest I put the disc in boiling water for 10 seconds. It worked! Copied 100% after boiling the disc.

I don't think that is the problem.

I can watch the whole film through and the bonus stuff - with Anydvd closed.

But with Anydvd running the drive never stops attempting to read the disc - just spins and spins...and clunks.

I got a log file :)

I disabled Prohibited User Operations, Remove annoying Trailers, BD-Live, and Region codes, and I got a log file.

It never finished scanning the disc though.

Oh, MKB version 8! Would this be the first title with a new MKB? Just curious, as I thought we're still at v7. Those read symptoms look somehow like structural protection.

Thank you!
AnyDVD tries to read sectors which do not exist....
I'll check.

No, v9 is the most recent version.

I use isoburn rip to iso
after that, use Virtual CloneDrive mount the iso,
open AnyDVDHD rip to iso(without AACS) again.

P.S. Anydvd will scan this disc few mins.......

James, do you want me to open the second original copy and see if that disc behaves the same?

Maybe some nasty filter/driver/process? Which interferes with AnyDVD?
No, must be stupidity of the AnyDVD programmer ( ) as AnyDVD *knows* the file locations (see dirlist.txt) but insists in reading in the hole of 00017.m2ts:

Code:
	00017.m2ts | LBA 1441856-15274690 | Size 28329646080 (13832835) | icb: 364 | crc: ok
		Range 1: 1441856-12099007 (10657152)
		Range 2: 12099200-15274882 (3175683)

read sectors failed, sense 3:10:ffffff90
tries 9 retry 12099056 to 12099072

How stupid is that? :bang:

If you don't mind, but I doubt it'll make any difference. AnyDVD is clearly going nuts, if I only knew why...

I tried the second original disc.

It behaves the same, Anydvd never finishes scanning.

I couldn't get a log file.

Is this the US version?

EDIT:
Sorry, overlooked this:
Baraka, US release (region A I think, not certain), 23 October 2008.

This must be an isolated problem though, i had no problems with this movie, ripped to HD and played from there fine.

This is interesting... Same release (US)?
Can you post a log for comparison?
