Summer Ghost BluRay crashes AnyDVD HD 8.6.6.0

This is expected behaviour. AnyDVD will not use LibreDrive for BD. But once the LG drive is "infected" by LibreDrive (UHD disc), LibreDrive will be used for non-UHD, too.
Just wanted to let you know. Pioneer is clear as also Sam stated. Any idea to fix this also for ASUS / LG since it works initially? Re-read the drive region?

There's not a damn thing James can do about it. The LG/Asus implementation of LibreDrive stays around like a zombie. The reason this works with Pio is that once you initiate a proper connection with the drive, LibreDrive gets "disabled" for lack of a better word. And on BD's they use AACS 1.x which works just fine with AnyDVD's mechanism to authenticate with the drive. Official drives use AACS 2.x which is more complicated as you can't do a proper authentication with the drive. And in the case of LG/Asus, the stupid drive doesn't care if you try to do a proper authentication or not, LibreDrive stays active until (hopefully) you eject the disc or (more thoroughly) power cycle the drive.

It is the LibreDrive code which likes to hang around. Only MakeMKV Mike can fix this. Maybe he did and I didn't notice.

But the discs on the LG were ejected. Then there is another situation why Libredrive is still enabled and the drive reports region 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8.

Yea that's why I put (hopefully) in there cause ejecting the disc is not a guarantee that LibreDrive is fully removed from the drive's memory. You MUST power cycle the drive to be sure.

Sounds logical for the LGs.

How about sending a "reset drive" if that software command is known before working with LGs? Just a wild guess.
