usually I select "german forced subtitles" in the download menu but at next download both options are preselected: "german forced subtitles" but also "german subtitles" which is unwanted if the audio language is already german.
Could this be changed to only forced (simply keep the selection)?

Only the developer knows this, and it will be what's best for everyone.
 
I think keeping the user selection is the best for everyone.
 
Did you have a look at a downloaded file with MediaInfo?
You would see something like

I assume, the program remembers the last used Language and is making its selection for the next download based on that, meaning both of above streams.
What is displayed in the preview window seems to be the Title, or parts of it.
Remembering the title might be difficult due to string selection or something like that (my programming is not the best) ... and there are probably higher priority issues on the list.
Besides ... don't you have to select the subtitle anyways? "Forced" does'nt mean it's played automatically (at least not on my players)
