With the version 6.8.4.2 of AnyDVD, I coudn't rip to my HDD the movie "source code"

I get an errror message after 3% that says

File IO 3 VTS_02_1.VOB 8491008 319488

I got the same error with versions 6.8.4.0 and 6.8.4.1

Isn't File IO 3 automatically a bad disc or a dieing drive?

Problems with Source Code DVD

I have tried two different disks with a DVD-ROM Drive and Blu-Ray drive cannot backup the Source Code. Receive an error at about 3 percent.
Suggestions and I'm new to this site.

I also am having an issue putting this on my media drive.

I am using Alcohol 120 for my images.

Its right a bout that 3% mark it goes tit up.

Ill see if a ISO image generates a log file.

Code:
MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ890AS 1.00 910130KMEYJ14004686
Please ensure you are using the latest firmware for your optical drive. See here.

Rip speeds on DVD and Blu-Ray might be improved by MediaCodeSpeedEdit. Please see RIPLOCK.
If installed (often from Duplex Secure, Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% ), uninstall SPTD, which can be the culprit for slow rips.
See here and here.

Matshita (Panasonic OEM) drives also have a reputation of being cheap junk (which is probably why some laptop companies love these drives)
They die easily, and also suffer from region coding issues. Click this. They should really be avoided.

This disk contains structural protection & bad sector protection. Please either use AnyDVDs 'Rip To Harddrive' function or use CloneDVD. See here for details.

There are read errors which can be caused by a badly pressed disc, dirty disc, damaged disc, problematic filters, driver conflicts, and a slowly dying DVD drive among other things.

See here. Your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged (even if it plays fine), or your optical drive could be slowly dying.

After carrying out the above recommendations, please create and post a new set of log files.

Try 6842 and then ...

Here is a log

With errors like this w/ FILEIO3

46.35s: read sectors failed, sense 3:2:0
53.45s: read sectors failed, sense 3:2:0
60.53s: read sectors failed, sense 3:2:0
67.34s: read sectors failed, sense 3:2:0
...20 more.

this looks more and more like a faulty disc but please get the 6842 beta installed and run this again. A new log attachment if it fails too, please.

I just ripped this tonight with AnyDVD v6.8.4.2 beta and CloneDVD2 v2.9.3.0 final. No problems noted.

same old story...

This is working and will not require any additional efforts for AnyDVD.

First, be sure your firmware is up to date:

http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=48949&page=3

Second, be sure if you are using the latest beta for AnyDVD:

http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=48895

and not using CloneDVD:

This is the business-as-usual scenario when you use such programs, to mean you'll need to use the "rip video...." option on the right mouse menu on the AnyDVD tray fox and then burn from the Hard Drive and NOT the DVD.

If this is still an issue then the DVD is likely playable but not readable for a copy.

I was a little premature in my assessment that the copy worked.

I mistakenly did a rip to HD and that did work,

When I went back to Rip to image that failed at 96%

this is with .2 beta

Now the only thing that changed was at some point last night maybe while it was trying to image my modem lost connection so it didn't have Internet access.

Not sure if that would cause an issue with the on-line database or not.

I'll attempt later

You need to enable the internet database, you have it disabled

Source Code still won't rip

I have experienced the error at 3% and 96%

I have installed the newest ANYDVD beta...

I upgraded the firmware on the DVD drive...

I've tried with the online database off AND on...

I've tried ripping to ISO and a hard disk folder...

None of these work. Don't say it's a bad disc, watched the whole dvd since I couldn't rip it. MANY people are finding the exact same errors and problems.

Without an anydvd logfile we cant say or do anything for you

OK, then let's look at this

I have experienced the error at 3% and 96%

MANY people are finding the exact same errors and problems.

And MANY are experiencing 100% success so....

since there is no such thing as "selective protections" it will work for you too.

Attach a log from AnyDVD 6842 please.
a) Ensure Anydvd is running.
b) Put that original disc in your optical drive/reader. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
c) Right click the little red fox icon in the lower right system tray and select "Create Logfile"
e) Wait for Anydvd to create a log file, a pop-up screen will appear.
Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "ok".
g) Go to your My Documents folder and there you will see a zip file called
"Anydvd_Info_<DVD TITLE>.zip" (or something similar)

Attach that ZIP file to your reply please.
