Sound problem converting to to mp4

Every time I try to convert a BD to mp4 the audio is awful and the sound is tinny and garbled. Only happens using one of my store bought BD's. What to do?
 
Define 'awful'. You referring to the background sound speeding up/slowing down?

Ideally, post a log file (after conversion press the Alt-key on the completion page, so the log file buttons appear).
