Thank you. Can you ask your friend to try with the AI scanner set to "always enabled"? Any difference?

James, will have to look into it. It may be new protection.

AnyDVD will take care if this, as long as it is running before the disc is inserted.

Using anydvd rip to hard drive get errror message FileIO 3vts_6_1.vob 284585984 178176

Thank you. I have the feeling this is a new protection.

Using CloneDVD, try to deselect these titles:

6, 7, 8, 27, 28, 29

Does this work?

... or, thinking about it, it could be a bad disc as well, or an incorrect entry in the online database.

I did as you asked, deselected 6,7,8,27,28 did not see a 29, and was able to get a good backup. Log file attached

Tried to reinstall AnyDVD without luck. The DVDs plays fine on the computer.

Is that the same problem?

Two solutions:

1.) Wait for AnyDVD 6.8.9.0 to be released

or

2.) Disable titles 6, 7, 8, 27 & 28 in CloneDVD

I should have specified that it is two different DVDs (Made In Dagenham and Harry Brown) which I can’t rip.
The movies play fine on the computer and AnyDVD can rip other movies.
I have attached another DVD log (Harry brown) Release data 2010

Sorry about the confusion

Argh, I thought you were talking about Smurfs. Don't know about "Made In Dagenham", but the Harry Brown logfile indicates a defective and / or dirty disc and / or drive.

In the future, please start your own troubleshooting thread.
