You could strip out audio tracks extras etc, other than that you'd need to re-encode the footage, same as on a DVD
What does re-encoding do? Is there a thread somewhere that shows how to do this?
So I guess this means I just have to go buy a couple huge hdds.

Yeah, compressing a high definition file makes no sense since it defeats the purpose.remember when going about to make it a smaller file quality loss may be there too so that means no reason to have HD-DVD's or BD's files.
I don't want to compress the file, just remove the extra junk and leave the movie with the audio
I've heard absolutely nothing about Elby working on a HD/BD program.HD BD Colne DVD2 would be fantastic
If you can't take advantage of the HD, then compressing it is ok.Well compressing a HD movie would be beneficial to those such as myself who only have a 720p monitor. but then again that is recoding not compressing.
you could just delete all files except the evo files, and even most of those could go. just keep the movie files.

OK, try to convince Slysoft or Elby of this.It makes tons of sense. I have seen 2 gig and 4.5 gig x.264 conversions of 300 and they look fantastic. 5-10x more movies on my HD this way.
