chicken and egg scenario

windows 7 is currently still in beta stages, you do not 'buy' it, it is free to beta testers.

And why does everyone assume that this is the fault of windows 7?
It is a problem with ANY DVD not being compatible with the operating system.
Why should microsoft change their operating system for this program?
Slysoft need to make this compatible with windows 7, not the other way.

Beta operating systems are likely not to perform like the predecessor - this is why companies run beta programs in the first place.

And as for the "why does everyone..." statement, if a software product works with all other existing Windows products and suddenly does not with a new one, who gets the call to fix that? Think about it. And also remember, Microsoft admitted Vista was a bomb some weeks ago by advising XP users NOT to upgrade to Vista but to wait until Windows 7 is official. And when it IS official, then that is the time to speak about compatibility issues, not while Microsoft is still tightening screws and things.

Will give it a try...

I've been informed that the Window 7 final release will not have this issue with the current version of AnyDVD and also the next AnyDVD beta will include a fix that should also work with the current Window 7 rc.

Looking forward to the next release and giving it a run. It's pretty much a mute point whether the existing version will run under the final release as it will be sooooo old by then :)

Please try 6.5.4.1 beta.

Please try 6.5.4.1 beta.

Happy news. 6.5.4.1 beta installs without error on Windows7 RC. Also tried it on build 7077 - no problem here either. I can't comment on the x64 side of things.
