[Resolved] No drive detected error msg

I backed up my registry and removed the PxHelp20 filter in IMGburn and rebooted.
I still get the same error msg. I then removed the Afc filter that DrinkLyeAndDie suggested and rebooted but that didnt work either. Any other ideas?

Okay here it is.

Okay, I guess you deleted everything. Make it a clean sweep, and remove GearAspiWDM as well using imgburn. Then reboot.

Do you still have a yellow exclamation mark next to the drive in device manager?

Now the AnyDVD filter is missing. Re-install AnyDVD.

It absolutely works now! I want to thank Webslinger,James,Drinklyeanddie and burnerhead for your patience and knowledge. You guys continued to help me even though it wasn't an AnyDVD problem. There is no way I could have fixed this problem without your help! I will tell as many ppl as I can about the Slysoft service. You guys are the best! Much Mahalos!

Btw, can anyone tell me how I got these filters to begin with? Was it preloaded onto my PC when I purchased it? Will I get these filters again and how do I prevent this from happening again?

I'm glad it's resolved. :)

Preventing the filters from being installed isn't necessarily an easy thing to do unless you know which programs install them. PxHelp20.sys is installed by a lot of software but I've never actually seen it cause a problem. The Afc.sys filter from Arcsoft has been shown to cause problems repeatedly.

Rather than try to remember what installed the bad filters my general rule is to stay away from packet-writing software like Nero InCD or Roxio DirectCD. Beyond that I check my filters fairly regularly to make sure nothing has been installed that I wasn't aware of filter-wise. I'm pretty picky about what I install so I'm not regularly installing a program that I have no experience with so that also cuts down on having to check for filters being added without my knowledge.

The best advice I can give is to see which filters are mentioned on the page concerning bad filters and check your filter stack when you have an issue to make sure nothing had been added that you weren't aware of. If you see a bad filter then I'd try removing it, as per the instructions given in this thread, to see if it has any impact on the problem.
