I may have found a bug in the latest version of AnyStream (1.7.2.2). I am downloading Episode 8 of Hard Knocks Miami from USA Max and when I do I get a 47:55 minute episode that is in .mp4 format. My normal procedure is to use MKVToolNix to convert that video into .mkv format, my preferred container. Once I convert the 47:55 minute video new video is now 1:22:22 in length.

I have installed AnyStream (1.7.2.0) and did the same test and both the original .mp4 and the converted .mkv video's are 47:55 in length. I am not certain if this bug started in 1.7.2.2 or if version 1.7.2.1 has the issue as well. I decided to go back to the stable release to verify if the issue occurs. Somehow there is a difference in the file that 1.7.2.0 downloads vs the file you get on version 1.7.2.2, (at least when you run that file through MKVToolNix).

Here is a log from both 1.7.2.0 and 1.7.2.2. I hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

What resolution and coded are you downloading? I just downloaded that episode in 1080P AVC and remuxed to MKV using the latest AnyStream beta and mkvtoolnix v82.0 and both are the correct length.

AnyStream does not support the mkv container. That is not to say whatever program you are using to convert it to .mkv shouldn't work, all I am saying is if you tested the .mp4 it is complete. If both .mp4 files are complete, then your issue is the way you are converting them to .mkv. I think your issue is not a bug in AnyStream but the process you are using to convert them to .mkv. I will however look into it further.

Thanks for looking further. The only reason I brought it up was that in version 1.7.2.0 it works and 1.7.2.2 it does not. You do have to use the corresponding version and download the files using that version. I am using the exact same version of MKVToolNix (Latest version, thanks to this forum and you, :) )with the exact same settings on both versions. One works, one does not.

Why dont you try it again and make sure all your settings are correct if both files coming out of AS are the correct length, they should come out of MKVToolnix the same way. Maybe you missed a setting. Try it again, it can't hurt. I will also see if there is an issue.

Check that you used the H264 and HEVC settings the same in MKVToolnix, maybe only one file was in HEVC and the may have been in H264, I cant see your MKVToolnix logs.

I tested the 1080p HEVC version and yes, there are some discrepancies. After remuxing, Windows, MediaInfo and VLC display the time as 01:22:25, yet in MPC-HC the time is correct ... I used FFMPEG to check for errors in the original MP4 and no errors were found  . It's probably an issue with mkvtoolnix, although I did encounter something similar with another video last week, the length of the original MP4 was only a few minutes long even though the video was complete.

I preformed the test three times. Version 1.7.2.0 works, version 1.7.2.2 does not. Hoping someone else could verify. I also rolled back MKVToolNix, to the previous version as a tested as well. The older version had the issue as well. No fret. Once I was able to reproduce the issue consistently, I decided to post.

The setting of MKVToolNix were consistant between AnyStream versions. Hopefully someone else can verify.

Ok, the problem does not happen when you download the video without any embedded subtitles. AnyStream has an issue with the subtitles from Max at the moment (for a while now - https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/max-subtitles-are-wrong.88881/ ) and I think the timestamps are causing problems when remuxing to MKV. There have some attempts to fix this bug but it still remains.

Just verified this, the subtitles that AnyStream produces have a time of 1:22:22, obviously wrong.
