A retail region A disc ripped with 8.1.4.0. When I tried playing the iso with PDVD 16 it gave a black screen and no sound.

Looks like a normal disc to me - I don't think this is protection related.
 
Thanks for checking. The iso plays in Kodi so I guess it's something with PDVD.
