I'm not sure if this is related to the fact I'm not in the UK, but I've tried two different methods, both of which produce the same error:

Method 1: using strongdns. This seems to work fine with AS+ on Netflix which I'm using successfully.
Method 2: using an http proxy and configuring it in AS+.

Both methods work streaming in the browser - I've tried both firefox and chrome and both work.

Any ideas?

I'll be able to check soon if it's a country IP geolocation thing as I'll be back in the UK. But it would be good to know if I can get it working when abroad.

I've searched and found out that itvx can be fickly troublesome but hope there's a way to get it working.

Thanks

I do believe they block IPs when they are detected. But I am not positive. I am not in that region so its hard for me to troubleshoot. Please leave a log file so I can see what the issue is.

Thanks.

I've just realised I probably needed to log in to my itvx account clicking on the person icon.

Having done that, I now get two different responses:
  1. If I don't set up any http proxy within AS or use strongdns, content appears but as soon as I attempt to download, I get the "could not retrieve playlist" message, presumably becuase IP geolocation is preventing access. This is what the log suggests.
  2. If I use http proxy configured within AS (proxy to 127.0.0.1 as a socks proxy which I have set up alongside an SSH session to my server in the UK to create a tunnel, I get a provider setup failed error message after a short while. Looking at the logs, it appears it can't find itvx.com website.
  3. If I use strongdns, I get similar response to 2 above.
Log files for all three tests attached.
Thanks

Give me some time to review all the log files and see if I can find anything that may be the reason.

I think your French Proxy is being blocked by ITVX. This was specifically added for people in the UK. I am not sure if you can use it outside the UK, some here use VPNs and especially proxies successfully and some cannot. As Amazon does, they may go back to the country you paid in and enable viewing for your British IP.

The strange thing is both of those work fine using the web browser on the PC I have AS running...

Try logging out of all devices on the website on the internet. Then try to log in using your proxy. It actually should be an English proxy, not a French proxy, I only use a proxy in severe conditions, it was too aggravating.
