Flawless 1080p BD Playback with VLC Player??

It sounds like you have may have played a disc with MKB v72 or newer. This would cause your drive to no longer accept the host certificate bundled with the public keydb. If you update/replace your current keydb.cfg file it may work for your disc (see the steps I posted earlier in this thread).

Even if you did update the keydb, you won't be able to play bus encrypted Blu-ray discs until someone leaks an unrevoked host certificate. If you want to find your own unrevoked host certificate, there is a licensed playback solution which is a popular source of keys
Would that solution be PowerDVD Ultra??

Just curious.

That would not help, if your issue is that you are unable to decrypt the disc.
The obvious solution is to purchase AnyDVDHD. If the disc is unsupported, it will be eventually.

This is the BD with the error
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Paradine-Case-Blu-ray/174546/
Note that it was released in 2017.

The first BD I ever purchased was a 2009 release. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Dr-S...Stop-Worrying-and-Love-the-Bomb-Blu-ray/1106/ No playback problems on VLC.

But neither with this 2020 release, also by Kino.
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Breezy-Blu-ray/159117/

And no problems here
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Seconds-Blu-ray/25112/

But this Region B disc
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Day-of-the-Outlaw-Blu-ray/141180/

gives this error Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///D:/'. Check the log for details.

Same problem with this Region B BD.
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Flight-of-the-Phoenix-Blu-ray/153368/

Speaking of which, would you mind sharing your experiences using PDVD Ultra's zoom control when playing BDs? Zoom works fine when I play DVDs, but even when I go into settings and enable BD playback while the BD is playing and I right click on the screen I don't see the zoom feature. When I click on Hot Keys/Mouse Wheel there is an option for zoom by enabling Ctrl + mouse wheel. But when doing so it doesn't let me zoom on this
Code:
BD https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Breezy-Blu-ray/159117/

But I can zoom on this BD when using VLC player.

At least slow motion works as nicely on PDVD Ultra as it does on VLC with this BD. But to access slow motion you need to remember the hot key }. Is there a way to put a slow motion button or icon in the PDVD bottom control panel tray, at the upper right of the screen on when you right click on the screen?

Ditto for zoom control?

I have PDVD 19.

I have PowerDVD 19 Ultra, but it doesn't like my Windows 11 laptop, so I can't help or assist you with your issue.

I can set VLC player to Region B and this BD plays fine.
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Day-of-the-Outlaw-Blu-ray/141180/

But for this one, also issued by Eureka! Masters of Cinema,
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Flight-of-the-Phoenix-Blu-ray/153368/

I get this error.

Blu-ray error:
AACS Host certificate revoked.

I guess it's time for AnyDVD HD

"I guess it's time for AnyDVD HD"

What I said and was pushed back since the topic was to play with just VLC.

Anyway - I checked. And you won't find UHD unsupported titles that are supported by keydb.cfg as far as I checked. So - AnyDVDHD is still my preferred solution. Some discs might need other options.

The only 4K BD in my collection I had purchased by accident.
Code:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Double-Indemnity-4K-Blu-ray/311288/
But it includes a 1080p BD as well. The rest of my large BD collection is all 1080p, which works well enough for me. High res audio quality has priority. It's the very few Region B BDs I have which neither VLC and PowerDVD 19 will play is the problem. But until I start doing something like video stream ripping, saving and playback AnyDVD HD's not so cost effective.
