Hello RedFox, I'm not sure how plausible this even is, however, I did think about it and figured I would throw it your way to see if this is something RedFox has already thought about themselves. I have a very basic understanding on how AS works. So, I'm wondering if it's possible to integrate "offline streaming" with the Prime App for Windows 10? I wonder if it's possible to grab the playback and decrypt that way? This allows for content to be played offline, and not worry about the limits due to online streaming concerns. It's just a thought...
I was wondering the same thing, but I'm guessing if they could they would have already. It's likely that the decryption is completely different when done offline.
either you want to stream something so you have to pay someone to have the service/s running to get the content from A to B or you store everything you want to watch on drives for offline watching and or LAN streaming. thats it.
I don't understand what you're saying, what does this have to do with the request of offline integration?
you're request makes no sense and you dont need to understand what as does in no point to know this. when you're offline you're offline, disconnected from the internet, the world wide web. so you dont get amazon app or as running because you're offline. if you cut your cable or your wifi adapter gets broken you're offline you can either watch your amazon stuff directly in the app/s of amazon or the webrowser. or you download the file with as. simple as 123
What in the world are you talking about? First of all, this was not my request, zero269 made it. Second of all, by "offline integration" we both clearly meant the possibility for AnyStream to decrypt the files downloaded by the official Primevideo app, with the advantages of not being detected in any way by anyone, no download limit (since the download would be done by the official app) and greater download speed. No one suggested you could magically download stuff without an internet connection.
Don't know about the App on Windows 10, but the Prime App on iPad "best" quality is lower than streaming quality (presumably, one of the reasons is to deter people from deciphering the downloaded content, and if they do it's lower quality)...
The app on Windows 10 downloads at the best video quality (CBR) up to 1080p, but the audio is only stereo. Why do you think CBR is best video quality---you're wasting energy when you don't need to, and lacking energy when you do? (The iPad app also has "best" video quality but its "estimated" file size is smaller that the estimated streaming size, and playback is notably blurrier, perhaps Win App is better, is it relying on SGX/TPM?)
Well said winoni71... Perhaps supersuckit should read slower next time to allow some of that good ol' fashion critical thinking to kick in before spouting off.
An excellent find winoni71. Thanks for sharing. I never used the app myself. I watch from my AppleTV 4K in the living room or my iPad, so I would have never guessed this limitation would be in place. That's pretty pathetic on Amazons part considering surround sound has been supported by computer systems for a very long time now. Oh, well. Forget about this as a possibility for now. However, I am still curious as to the developers opinions on if it would be possible to even interface with the App and decrypt the content offline. That would still be pretty amazing.
Agreed, I lost all interest in this when I found out. Better to have slower download speed with 5.1 audio than the opposite.
