I noticed that I didn't have to manually modify PBS's masterpiece Little Women Blu-ray as I've had to do for many recent PBS releases. Is this because anydvd put in the fix for it or is this because PBS changed how they are authoring their discs?

If it is an AnyDVD fix, does this also apply to java code?

The change has been added, yes.
And BD-J shouldn't require it because BD-J allows a jump to firstplay (BD+ discs do that all the time).

That's the problem I have, many Fox discs (i.e. the primary ones using BD+) fail on my Dune (but work fine with Kodi and the newest libbluray). Generally with the fox discs I can get around it by reauthoring the disc to use a different BDJO or by realizing that the the BDJO jumps to a title (possibly a BDJO) that jumps to first play so i can change that title to be HDMV code that jumps to another title that is the equivalent of the first play object. But annoying.

I really think its the fact that the dune understands first play, but not jump to first play (i.e. -1). I'll see if I can rerip some fox discs and see if it makes a difference.
