Trying to download this title:

It does not download at all, and gives an "Error" box instead. Log message indicates "Widevine certificate retrieval error".

Here is some additional information about this:

In a regular web browser, the YouTube player displays an error, "An error occurred. Please update your web browser and try again. Error code: 99,999"

This message is caused by YouTube Movies now requiring WidevineCDM to be at a minimum version of 4.10.2710.0. Installing the latest Chrome (121.0.6167.86 at the time of this writing) fixes the problem and the video plays.

So, I suspect AnyStream is using an earlier version of WidevineCDM.

Log attached.

AnyStream cannot download encrypted content from YouTube. It's always been like that.

otherwise why would people not just use yt-dlp
Yes, that is what I think too. It's nice to have as much as possible within AS, but there are already so many other YT downloaders out there. And since AS is about encrypted content, it might confuse people (already did so with another member).
