XVid to ipod?

Hey guys, I haven't gotten my ipod video yet. I saw that you can export DVD's to Xvid in the product description but say I have already made an Xvid. Can I drop or convert that to ipod format without reripping the movie? Sorry I don't want to use my clone dvd mobile trial until I have the video ipod.
