This is my first time posting as I have generally never had any problems with any of my slysoft software; however, lately after the dvd is copied and I slip in a blank dvd for recording, it only gets a ways into it before it says that copying the media was unsuccessful, and I lose a perfectly good blank dvd disc.

I have had the problem the past couple of months but there were only a few discs that had this problem. Now, it seems that every time I try to copy a disc, it says the media is bad and writing was unsuccessful, though they are brand new discs.

I am running the latest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.

Please help!

Thanks!

Brett

So I finally got around to doing this. Thank you for the link that shows what info. I need to include.

I have attached the AnyDVD 6.5.5.9 log zip file as well as the CloneDVD2 2.9.2.2 log file.

The message in the pop-up window says that a writing error occurred due to bad media, and the details showed the message WriteDVD 10 11 W2.

I am using Verbatim DVD-R discs, 4.7 GB, 120 min, 16x Certified. The speed writing took place I believe was 8x. I think the batch code is MAP630KI051414025. I do not have the country of origin as I had removed the label on the package and threw it away months ago. The disc is made by Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.

The media code block is:

Exactly what happens is the dvd I am trying to make a copy of copies without a hitch. The trouble always comes when I try to write it to the blank media. It used to happen just every once in a while but now it happens every time I have a go at it. It also does not matter which brand of blank media I try, it always says bad media as the reason.

I think I have included everything that is needed for this problem. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you so very much!

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 6.5.5.9)

1. Update Anydvd: click http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6562.exe

SLIMTYPE DVDRW SOSW-833S VRS2 2005/05/13 17:12

This is a Lite-on 8x slimline drive. Slimline drives are notorious for breaking down, but that's not the problem. The problem is you're using a) firmware from 2005, which likely does not support the blank media that you're using--and b) you're using 16x rated media with an 8x rated drive (which is related to point "a").

2. Update your drive's firmware: http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/SOSW-833S/product_spec/833S_e.zip

3. Use 8x rated blank media only (preferably Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden)--and not 16x rated blank media. And use a 4x burn speed with the 8x media that you buy.

4. Try another burner
