I use VLC & MS Media Player.

I know there are loads out there eg PowerDVD, Intervideo WinDVD etc

Can you tell me which ones would you recommend and why?
I'm using my shuttle pc as a HTPC and would like something quite slick and ideally free!

The sort of problems I'm running to is... if I drag and drop an ISO (created with CloneDVD2) onto VLC,
the sounds gets all choppy when I use S/PDIF and set Automatic detection of Dolby Surround.

I just can't be bothered with all this tweaking and would like something that just works!

Please advise.

Although a lot of people don't like it because of its lack of features, Interactual's PCFriendly DVD is free and perfectly plays every standard dvd (non-HD) that I throw at it. I have to load the ISO in a virtual drive first, though. No fuss, no muss. Just use it with a firewall, so that it can't connect to the internet.
