i have a question that some of you more knowledgeable than me might be able to help with. i have vista ultimate and i would like to use the included media center program for a HTPC (dvd and video files only, unfortunately).
i would like to put all of my movies on a large hard drive and select which one i want with media center. so far that part works great. the part i am having issues with is the parental controls. i would like to have it block pg-13+ movies from being played without a password, as there are younger children around the house. so far this feature works great with dvds, but i cant get it to work at all with video files. :bang:
i found that with .wmv extension files, you can click details in Vista and manually type in a rating, but that rating doesnt have any effect in WMP or WMC. also, you can only do that with .wmv files afaik.
do any of you know how i might go about adding in ratings on my video files (.avi, .mp4, .divx, etc) that WMC or WMP will respect?
thanks for the help,
Z
