    Hi all

I used to frequently use Verbatim DVD-R / DVD+R DL discs which are Made in Singapore, but have been recently trying out TDK DVD-R / DVD+R DL media form my local Dick Smith Electronics Store. Are the TDK as good as Verbatim (Mitsubishi Chemical Company) as TDK are Made in Taiwan. Ive had no coasters yet but, just seeing if anyone has had any issues and what media they prefer. Remember, im in Australia so the largest media makers are Verbatim and TDK.

    Not even close

And the TDKs you're using are probably all Ritek D01s. (Run away!)

    Stick with Verbatim

How can you tell? I've been using TDK CD-R80 and DVD-r in UK for a while with no obvious problems. Also have some RWs but not tried them. Can't see anywhere on discs or containers about where they are made although it refers to TDK Europe (Luxembourg) on the paper wrapper.

If you don't know how to obtain media codes, you may find the following programs useful: and
