Hello,

I would like to know, why the help files says to "preserve menus" when splitting a long movie into two DVD-5.

I mean, even if i dont preserve the menu, i knw how many chapters i copied in disk 1 and then the rest in disk 2...

So, whats the use?

PS: Can i copy in FForward mode - the main menus?

craige4u,
Are you talking about using CloneDVD? Because I never heard of "FForward mode".

Depending on how some movies are authored, eliminating menus can cause the DVD player to receive no default track information.

Read this:

... read the whole thread if you like but for sure read posting #4. Even if you don't want to retain all audio and subtitle tracks, read the parts about why keeping the menu is sometimes necessary.

Best regards,
