Some movies have bad track timing. Some recording have a hum (6th Sense). Some don't (Apocalypse Now). Is there a way to reline the trck and also get rid of the hum?

That's in itself doesn't provide us with much of details to know what is going on? Did you try the original and see how those played before playing the backup? That would be the first thing to do if the backup is giving bad playback. I have 6th sense and Apocalyspe now backup and store bought and don't have any problems on either format. I would say it comes down to your hardware that is playing it. Otherwise we would've had heard something about that and considering these are old movies that is strange to hear they are causing you problems now???
