I'm having some playback issues with Rush hour 3 and Mr. Woodcock. I am using the latest version of Anydvd and I rip the movies to harddrive with dvd shrink or CloneDVD. I burn the ISO files to disc (DVD +R) using clone dvd or Nero. The problems I'm having with these two titles are a first for me, and I've backed-up newer Dvds since these two with no playback problems. They both do the same thing, about 15 min into the movie, they start to skip and freeze. I use Quality media, and have made several attempts to back them up with the same results each time. Is it a new copyguard problem, or does clonedvd or anydvd have issues with these titles?
Both movies use
X-Protect copy protection and are from
New Line. You should rip them with
AnyDVD and
CloneDVD or use the
AnyDVD ripper. Both methods should work and have been tested by numerous people. Ripping a disc with
X-Protect with
DVD Shrink and
AnyDVD in the background is
not recommended and tends to result in exactly what you are describing although, from what I've seen the problems with
DVD Shrink tend to start around
Chapter 4. Try using the
AnyDVD ripper and then processing the output with
DVD Shrink and see how it plays. Test to see how it plays from your HDD before burning anything.
Make sure you are using the latest version of
AnyDVD which is 6.3.1.5. If you aren't then please update. You can download the file here:

With
AnyDVD 6.3.1.5 installed please do the following:
a) Ensure Anydvd is running.
b) Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
c) Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
d) Select "Create Logfile"
e) Wait for Anydvd to create a log file.
f) A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "ok".
g) Go to your My Documents folder
h) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f)
i) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
j) If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
k) A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
l) Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
m) click "upload"
