Ripping from External Drive

Y'all:

I use a laptop as my primary machine --and it doesn't have a blu-ray player in it. I can connect to a blu-ray player over a local network (by mounting it from another machine), or I can pick up an external (usb) blu-ray to use for ripping. Would any sort of external drive work?

If Windows can see the drive, so can AnyDVD.

Thanks... It doesn't look like AnyDVD HD sees the drive, though, even though I've mounted it, and restarted AnyDVD. Any ideas?

I'd say install AnyDVD on the remote system.

In case you decide to, I bought a sub $100 Asus slim blu external for my laptop and its been working great.
