I have yet to have any issues with AnyDVD or CloneDVD. I simply rip the main movie to disk, and burn the copy without any problems with the software. I occasionally run into a bad disk, and just replace it.

However, this is the first time I ran into this.. and wanted to see what may be the cause.

Please ensure you are using the latest firmware for your optical drive. See here.

Rip speeds on DVD and Blu-Ray might be improved by MediaCodeSpeedEdit. Please see RIPLOCK.
If installed (often from Duplex Secure, Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% ), uninstall SPTD, which is the culprit for slow rips.
See here and here.

I purchased a 4 movie set for the Final Destination series.

Each disk is dual sided, with one movie per side. All are widescreen movies.

However, with Final Destination 3, this disk contains two versions of the movie: The theatrical version, and a "choose your own destination" version where you get to choose the ending. Both versions have two "angles"... as do most Disney movies, aka Angle 1 and Angle 2.

With the "choose your own", angles 1 and 2 both end in "vob read errors" at around 50%... with the theatrical version, angle 1 ends in a vob error at 64%, but the second angle finishes with the error posted above.

I have tried to rip each different version of the movie, only to succeed with the second angle of the theatrical version, thus providing the log file.

Everything else is working just fine.

I'll post a screen shot of the menu list for further referrence.

Not sure if this information helps, but AnyDVD scanned all the other movies without any issues, CloneDVD ripped each film within 6 mins to the hard drive... but with FD 3, AnyDVD took the longest in scanning the disk, and it took almost 16 minutes for CloneDVD to rip the disk to the drive.

As seen in this screen, title 2 is the "choose your own adventure", and title 1 is the theatrical version. Not sure yet what title 4 is.

As your disc does not contain bad sector protection (logfile says Bad sector protection not found.) you should see here.

Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labelled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).

I went out and purchased the same movie, only this time not as a movie package. Single DVD, yet contains the same options as the other set.

Same issue with CloneDVD.

The rip only took about 7 mins this time, instead of 15.

Fired up Nero's ScanDisk and both disks checked out fine, 100% good.

So I suspect it's just a design flaw in the movie.

The drive is only 4 months old, though new doesn't say it's perfect. No other issues with any other movies.

I'll play the movie from the computer and see if I notice any distinctive sound or video distortions.

I appreciate the help.. like I mentioned, I typically have 0 issues with either program and haven't since I purchased them a few years ago. This is just the first time I have ever seen CloneDVD mention that it "could have" fixed the errors, but to contact support if it didn't.
