The version of AnyDVD you are using ( 6.5.8.9 ) is up to date. This is the current beta version.

    Code:
    VBOX CD-ROM 1.0
I've no idea what this is. Please use the original Blu-Ray disk.

There are read errors which can be caused by a badly pressed disc, dirty disc, damaged disc, problematic filters, driver conflicts, and a slowly dying DVD drive among other things.

After carrying out the above recommendations, please create and post a new set of log files.

    Solved!

Ok Mike, sorry about posting in the other thread. I thought it was a good practice to not repeat topics, but I'll open a separate in the future if it's needed.

I solved the problem: I just installed an old version of AnyDVD (6.5.7.1) and it updated the bdhash.bin (?). Then I went back to the latest beta (6.5.8.9) and it can decrypt the blu-ray fine, although it was unable to determine the region code (A) as written on the other thread. But it is not a problem, since I don't want to remove the region lock protection.

So the issue was just with the bdhash.bin update... for some unknown reason, the latest beta 6.5.8.9 didn't update the hash database.

    Thank you very much Mike.

And the VBOX is the Virtualbox cdrom device... I use the passthrough feature of Virtualbox, so AnyDVD works fine inside Virtualbox (because I use Linux as my primary OS). Thanks.

Ps: any plans to do a Linux AnyDVD native client in the future?

Ps2: a hint I want to give to Virtualbox users is to always unmount the media before using another in AnyDVD. In the past I didn't need that, but now I see that it's needed. So umount the media before changing it. This will help AnyDVD (maybe it was the reason for the read errors).

    Most certainly not.
That error message you got was totally unrelated to the BDPHash.bin - that did not even come into play at that stage.

Ok, I'm not an expert on this, but then it was Virtualbox's fault... Unmounting and mounting the media solved the problem. Sorry about my mistake and thanks.
