What do you mean by "does not seem to work"?

1. i) Create a backup of your registry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756
ii) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)
iii) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "NTIDrvr". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Click "remove selected filter". Click "ok".
iv) Reboot

If need be, do that in Windows Safe Mode.

Thanks Webslinger

Imgburn ( I see I misspelled it) comes back with a warning that the program will not work and when I click "okay" and refresh the filter is still there, I have also tried removing the filter and closing imgburn and it is still shown. I will try in Safe Mode when I get a chance and report back.

What does the full message state?

I was refering to the disclaimer saying "you are about to remove the upper filter NTIDrvr etc:

Yeah, you can also simply uninstalling NTI's Filecd.

I can't seem to find anything refering to the NTI Filecd in the windows add remove programs. They have an option to remove parts of the program but I see nothing that resembles packet writing. I have contacted NTI support, lord how long I will have to wait for an answer from them.

Thanks a lot for your time and help Webslinger it is very much appreciated.
Your advise about running imgBurn in "safe mode" did the trick it took a while because my new computer is a lot different to get into "safe mode" then my old ones were.
I had done it before but a "senior moment" snuck up on me and borrowed a few brain cells for a while this time I wrote directions.

I'm glad that you were able to remove that registry entry successfully.
