[Resolved] I have an ongoing problem with CloneDVD

Just an update for anyone that may have been following this thread, I downloaded a new version of CloneDVD ( 2921) on March 12 and tried a test of two movies, one at 8x speed and the other at 16x speed.I have not had a chance to watch these movies until now and they both ran fine with no hiccups of any kind. Now I notice a new version again (2922) March 20, when I get a chance I will test this version on my machine and report back.
I suspect that the version of CloneDVD I was using that was causing my problems may have had some sort of "blip" when I downloaded it, in the future I will try downloading it for second or third time if necessary and test it, before looking for help on this forum.
Once again thanks for your guidance Webslinger.
I have learned a lot from you.

CloneDVD 2.9.2.2 (http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html) resolves a problem that some people experienced with v2.9.2.1. It's recommended that everyone update.

Just as a note, v2.9.2.1 and v2.9.2.2 come with the newer WriteDVD.dll that was available for manual download for awhile. No one should need to mess around with the WriteDVD.dll file anymore.

By the way, for some reason a light just went off in my head . . .

I have no idea why I didn't mention this earlier (sorry).

Hrmmm . . .

I've got an idea.

It seems to me that shouldn't be listed in your registry's filter stack. What I just quoted was installed with older versions of Clonedvd--but not with newer versions. Maybe that's been causing a problem (I don't know for sure).

1. Uninstall Clonedvd

a) Keep your license key file backed up safely
b) Uninstall Clonedvd (start-->all programs-->Elaborate Bytes--->Clonedvd2-->Uninstall)
c) Reboot

2. Now remove that entry from your registry:

i) Create a backup of your registry: click http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756
ii) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program in my opinion)
iii) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "ElbyDelay". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Click "ok".
iv) Reboot

3. Now Install Clonedvd 2.9.2.2

a) Download Clonedvd http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneDVD.exe
b) Exit all Slysoft programs (including Anydvd, Clonedvd2, Clonecd, Clonecdtray, Clonedvdmobile, etc.). Check Windows Task Manager if you have to.
c) At this point disable your antivirus and firewall programs
d) Reinstall
e) Reboot
f) Install your license key (if required) http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=732
g) At this point enable your antivirus and firewall programs

4. Now follow the steps from this link in the order that they appear:

Webslinger: Thanks for that advice - I checked and I also had the ElbyDelay filter left over from an older install. Just fyi, simply uninstalling 2.9.2.2 (choosing keep registration information option), rebooting, and reinstalling 2.9.2.2 got rid of the old filter and licence key was intact.
