It transpires that D do The Right Thing("TM") with the subtitles, as in their captioning positions text so as to not obscure other text in the video: sometimes the captions will be at the top, sometimes off to a side. However, when the subtitles are transcoded in TTML the positional awareness is lost, SRT doesn't support location of the captioning box in any event, and I haven't tried Embedded to be fair.
Given that different providers supply captioning in different formats (D does in WebVTT) can we have a "Native" option in the drop-box so that AS just downloads the subtitles and leaves them as they come?
