As Ch3vr0n pointed to, if you get read errors on a Blu-ray then it's always either a faulty drive or a faulty/dirty disc.

As @Ch3vr0n and @Adbear have said, since this is a pressed disc, which is stamped out like vinyl but using metal, any bad sectors are definitely problems with the disc or the drive that's reading it.

OK the weird thing I've noticed with AnyDVD when trying to rip Mockingjay part 2 was that it didnt find any bad sectors to remove whereas anyreader found shitload?

How do you fix bad sectors on blu-ray discs, or is it a matter of trying to clean both OD and Disc?

You can't fix read errors on a Blu-ray disc.



Ch3vr0n gave you the link earlier today about Read Errors to take a look at, in which I'm reposting here for you to read so that you can get a better handle on what a read error on a Blu-ray disc is.

To summarize, If the Blu-ray disc has read errors on it, then it's either caused by 3 possibilities: 1) a defective disc, or 2) a dying drive, or 3) both.

Basically, if you find out that your disc has read errors, then you have to get a replacement.

8.1.7.10 (and 8.1.7.9) is broken. Try the release version or 8.1.7.11.
