My movie server got hit with a ransomware called Cryptolocker.
The bug encrypts files using a public, and a private key.
The server has about a thousand movies on it; they got about 30% of them
They give you 72 hours to pay a $500.00 ransom, then the price doubles for another 72 hours.
At the end of the second 72 hour period, they delete the private key from their server, and you are permanently screwed.
I had doubles of some of the rarer films, but will be hard pressed to duplicate some of the others.
Has anyone else out there been hit with this.
I would be interested in starting a dialogue.
