Could somebody give me some guidance please.
I am unable to play dvds on my computer
with anydvd disabled.
I get the massage
"Your display environment does not support protected content playback"
With Anydvd enabled a disc plays perfectly
The region on the drive is set to 2 as is the software (Windvd)

You gave very little info to know where your form and what your hardware and software setups is?? So more details is needed to be of help.
 
Windows 7 home premium SP1
Anydvd 6810
WinDvd 2010 v,10.0.5.703 set to region 2
Optical drives Liteon ihas 324,ihds118 both set to region 2

You probably use DVI/HDMI output without HDCP. You have to use AnyDVD.

Strangely enough i can play a dvd through Windows MP and it works perfectly with AnyDvd disabled.

I think my problem has been very well answered by James.
I have read all about HDCP.I am not sure i understand it completely but i will in due course.
