Hi

I've encountered a problem with AS truncating some (but apparently not all) Paramount+ downloads at around the 10 minute mark. Two examples are NCIS:Sydney S01E01 and South Park S24E01. According to the AS log it's picking up the truncated stream length from its negotiation with the provider. This behaviour is consistent across the latest AS release running on both Ubuntu Linux and Windows 10. There is plenty of available space for download and there seem to be no issues with downloads from other providers.

The affected videos are available at full length on the regular P+ streaming app running on other devices.

Since you are using Linux I really can't test it, but I do not think that's your issue, I think your VPN is dropping in and out and that is what is causing your issues. I would try it again at a different time.

Thanks for the quick response, but: There is no VPN involved, the network is rock solid and, as I very explicitly pointed out, I am seeing consistent behaviour on BOTH Linux and Windows 10.

That's not what your file says, but if you say no VPN, then it's no VPN.

Thats not what your file says, but if you say no VPN, then its no VPN.
It's interesting in itself that the "file says" there is a VPN involved when there is not. What would lead to AS logging the presence of a non-existent VPN?

For completeness I have attached a log file created on a Windows instance.

You say you have gone on the Paramount+ website in your country and everything is fine correct? No disclaimer on a new price rate. Or diclaimer on the age to see SouthPark Pandemic Special?

BY REQUESTING ACCESS TO THIS EPISODE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU'VE REVIEWED THE CONSUMER ADVISORY AND DECLARE THAT YOU, AND ANY OTHER PRESENT VIEWERS OF THIS EPISODE, ARE 15 OR OLDER.

I do not have either of those shows where I am located. I sent you a PM.

I said no such thing. I said that I have verified that the episode in question plays in its entirety within the Paramount+ app on a streaming device. I rarely stream from within web browsers but, for the sake of the exercise, I have just checked that there are no such disclaimers as those you refer to - I've never seen such a thing. Ever.

I'm accessing content from the P+ account's main profile which has no age restrictions whatsoever and, yes, it is fully paid-up.

Why dont you log into the website and there is an account section? You can log out of all devices running on your account. Then log back in and see if that helps.

I am troubleshooting and trying to help you. I am not accusing you of anything, but without information, I cant help at all. Did you get the PM I sent you.

Understood and very much appreciate the help. That comment ("I said no such thing ...") was a clarification of what I said vs what you appeared to think I said about where I've tested. Yes, I've replied to PM - thanks. Logging out of everything is a PITA but I'll give it a go now and get back to you.

According to the log the playlist off that episode is just around 10 minutes long.
Is it only with those two examples or with all downloads?
When you play the video in the browser, is there anything off at the "truncation mark" ?
If there was a general issue with Windows and Paramount downloads, I guess the forum would be flooded.

Many thanks for staying on top of this. The new beta seems to have addressed the issue. I'd previously tried logging out of P+ everywhere as suggested (a real PITA, since there's no way of doing this automatically from the P+ account web page) and that didn't help. Apologies for not confirming all is OK before now - real life got in the way yesterday. Thanks again for the fix.
