Want to backup my official DVD of Toy Story. However, I get a jumbled mess after AnyDVD scans the disc. Is there a problem with Toy Story and AnyDVD? is there a solution? My kids have watched this so many times I need to create a backup disc. I get an error from Any dvd saying:

1) Clean disc
2) dVD media damaged
3) your drive is a region locked RPC2 drive
4) Your drive hasn't been assigned a region

Suggestions? I have cleaned, etc already

How to create AnyDVD Log File

5. Post an AnyDVD log file. Many times the answer to your question is visible to experienced users or SlySoft support or a developer right away.

Ensure Anydvd is running.
Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
Right click the red fox icon on your system tray (to the lower right).
Select "Create Logfile"
Wait for Anydvd to create a log file. In some circumstances this might take 5 minutes or longer.
A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile "Anydvd_Info_<xxxxxxx>.zip" (or something similar)
Click "ok". A Windows Explorer will open. You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.ziplog"
Look for the icon that looks like a paper clip after clicking "quote" or when creating a new thread). If you don't see that paper clip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paper clip.
A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .ziplog file you created.
click "upload"
Close the window. When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the .ziplog file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at.

From the log

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 7.5.1.0, BDPHash.bin 14-02-26-B)
HP DVD-RAM GH80N RF03 . 0204221113CD088016
Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)

Video DVD (or CD) label: TOYSTORY1
Media is CSS protected!

Set your drive hardware region, then try again and it should work.

Make sure you EXIT anydvd completely BEFORE you go into windows device manager or you will NOT set the region.

ok, here is the ziplog fileView attachment 25137

Exit AnyDVD, and in device manager, find your DVD drive, and set the region code to 1, and try backing up again. After setting the region code, and stills does not work, download the beta version located at the first topic of the forum, and if that does not work, create a new log file with the latest beta version and post again here.

Thank you.

Want to borrow my VHS copy of Toy Story?:D

Original and not a back-up;)

The kid who used to watch in is now 42, but still likes it.

Looking at the AnyDVD log, I am more inclined to say that the DVD disc is bad, and/or sectors within the disc is unreadable. If you've already cleaned the disc with clean cloth and still unable to copy/back-up ... the disc is defective or damage in certain sectors. You may not be able to copy this disc.

You've got a bad disc probably, that movie is way too old to have a new protection on it. Exchange the disc

ok, I got another disc and get the same problem. see log file

I am going to assume you got this one from the same source. Try another place.
