I was able to watch Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on a DVD player, SD, wide screen, but AnyDVD does not recognize there is even a disk in the player. This has not happened before.

AnyDVD 6.4.7.6
DVD is in E:\ drive is a Matshita DVD-RAM SW-9585

IDE\CDROMMATSHITA_DVD-RAM_SW-9585________________B100____\5&974026D&0&0.0.0

Suggestions are appreciated.

Play is not READ and player is not PC

Hi,

First of all, "playing" a DVD has nothing to do with its readability. 8)
One is dumping a load of rocks off a truck, the other landing a plane at night.

If this one plays on an off-PC player and is invisible on the PC you can bet the file system on the disc is corrupt so Windows can not "see" it. If Windows can't see it, AnyDVD can't either.

You can try a right click on the tray fox and "rip video...." to see if the non-Windows read function will work. I have my doubts.

from Frequently Asked Questions (READ BEFORE YOU POST)

5. Anydvd can't see or detect my original dvd-video movie disc (or my drives can read cds and not dvds or vice versa). What should I do?

a) Keep your license key file backed up safely
b) Uninstall Anydvd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Anydvd-->Uninstall)
c) Reboot
d) Check to see if your system ("my computer") now reports a disc in drive. Do you see a video_ts folder (if you're using a dvd)? Do you see folders or files?

If the answer is "no" to "d)", then Anydvd isn't your problem. As Anydvd is not on your system, Anydvd can't interfere or block the reading process. Possibly your reader or burner is slowing dying, the original disc is bad, or a number of other possibilities exist as well (including messed up ide/sata busdrivers, bad cable on the back of the drive, etc.)

If the answer is "yes", click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=1559 and follow the steps (note that step 4 requires you to post information)

Matshita DVD-RAM SW-9585

16. Help! I'm having problems playing discs from other regions with my Matshita drive! Why?

Matshita (Panasonic oem) burners should really be avoided. They are cheap junk (which is probably why some laptop companies love these drives), die easily, and also suffer from region coding issues. Click this

Solution=RClick tray fox icon and Rip to HDrive to fix DVD structural defects. Thereafter your Indy Crystal will be healed!:agree:

Amiporat, might I advise at least reading the Sticky threads before posting advice? The rip to hard disk solution is only for importing disks with strange structural protections into other programs. As I recall IJ4 doesn't have any such protection on the disk - so it's likely his problem lies elsewhere - like with the the disk itself being flawed or with his MatSHITa drive. (they are known to be funky).
