I have read through this posting and I don't see any solution to the problem. I am having the exact same problem. Here is the information from the log which matches what was shown here. The interesting thing to know is that after I created the profile I was able to run the profile only 1 time and after that it pops up a window looking for the CD.
Here is the excerpt from the log. Any help would be greatly appreciated:

Hi Matt
Just when I thought this was over it turns out that McAfee may or may not be the culprit. I occasionally get the same error message (prompting for the CD) even when McAfee Services have been disabled. I have been playing with this because it makes no sense. What I am finding is that If I repeatedly keep launching GameJackal and the Simcity3000 Profile a session will finally run correctly without the prompt. I usually get the CD prompt several times before it suddenly runs. I am not sure what on earth would cause this. It is almost like some process is taking a long time to get going before SimCity 3000 can run. Any thoughts on this?
sounds like it hasn't captured enough information, hence asking for the cd/dvd, but sometimes there is enough information already captured, which is why it works... seemingly random...
